Stokkavannet Rundt was established during the spring of 2000 as number 14 of many permanent walks in Norway. A complete list over these walks is found at NFFs WEB-pages.

Starting cards are to be obtained at Madlakrossen Bilistsenter (Shell Select). The length of the route is 10km. The kilometres are registered for maximum one round each day, and the participation is registered maximum once in three months (new stamp from January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st). The walk may be started anywhere along the route, and the walker is personal responsible for registering correct date and hour at the start of the trip.

The codes are changed all the time. It's thus very important that the codes are registered in the correct rubrics - so that the number at the control-points and the number at the rubrics always are the same no matter what direction one choose to walk along the lake. To be valid the participant also has to go to Madlakrossen Bilistsenter (Shell) to get a stamp that confirms that the date and hour are correct.

For those not previous familiar with the route, it's recommended to start the walk from Madlakrossen Bilistsenter (Shell Select) in Madlakrossen. Go towards the automatic carwash and then to the right on the bicycle-path. Follow the path underneath the road and turn to he right towards Revheimsvegen. Follow the road approx. 100 meters and then cross the road (Note: there may be heavy traffic!) at the trafo-station (large green-yellow building of bricks and concrete at the other side of the road). Follow the path to the right of the trafo-station towards the lake, until the point where the path splits. Those who are not well familiar with the route are recommended to turn left and walk clockwise around the lake. The control-points will then appear in an increasing sequence.

Follow the path along the lake. A Golf-track and a wetland-area is passed. Control-point 1 is found at the left side of the path in a uphill at the end of a large clearing shortly after an information sign at the right side of the path. Follow the path further along the lake, and turn left on a path with an alley of fir-trees to the right side of it. The letters IVV are cut into the bark of one of the trees. Turn right in the first crossroad and follow the path to the crossroad at Lille Stokkavann.

Turn right. Control-point 2 is located at the right side of the path, and is for the time being placed close to an old wooden fence shortly after the cross road, but due to vandalism it may be slightly moved to shortly before the cross road, at the cross road, or shortly after the cross road so please pay attention at this point.

Go straight forward, cross the first asphalt-road and continue until the path forks. Turn left and cross the little wooden bridge and continue straight forward until you reach a new narrow asphalt-road. Turn left on the road and go straight forward into the footpath when the road forks shortly after. Follow the path along the lake. Control-point 3 is located on a pole on the left side of the path. It's easy to see when one is walking the normal direction. When walking the opposite way, this control-point is hidden behind the post. Follow the path along the lake back to the starting point.

Price: IVV-stamp only; NOK 15,- for each trip.

Awards: A medal can be bought for an additional NOK 25,-. The price for IVV stamp + medal is thus NOK 40,-
